Portrait Creation
I package the creation of your portraits
with all of the original prints. With maternity photography, you probably do not
need (or want) a huge 30x40 wall portrait. Instead you will want a variety of poses
and looks to show all the different facets of pregnancy. I have made it easy for you by
packaging originals with the session creation. For those of you not interested
in the 20 originals, you can
take a $100 credit and use that towards the print sizes that you want...
What to Expect
Maternity photography is a relatively new
genre of photography. You might be wondering exactly what will go on in your
session. I can promise you these will be the easiest and most fun pictures you ever
take.
First, before your session, I have
you come for a consultation appointment. At the consultation, I will
show you my portfolio and talk about what types of portraits you would like
to take. I have a good supply of clothing available for you to look at
and wear during your session. We make many of the clothing choices at
the consultation. We also talk about what clothing you might have at
home that would work for the session. Choice of coloring for the portraits
are made here too. I offer black and white, color, and the
new color
wash.
For newborn and baby sessions, a
consultation is usually done over the phone. I know how crazy it is when you have a
baby!
A typical portrait session lasts 1 - 2
hours. It is not really limited by time: I continue the session until we have
the pictures we need. There is no limit on the clothing changes, however, most women
change 3 or 4 times. You can include others in the session if you like.
However, there is a 25.00 add on fee for more than 3 people (babies under 3 months are not
included in the person count)
Clothing Suggestions
I have lots of different outfits that are
appropriate for these photographs. These include all
kinds of fabric wraps, long gowns, short gowns, 2 piece pjs, and shirts for "open belly" shots. I also encourage you to bring any
clothes or items you would like to have in the photographs. When bringing your
own clothing, try to stick to solid colors. Your favorite pajamas or robe look
great too!
For babies, many of the pictures are can be done with no clothing. These look so
natural and beautiful. Also bring a couple of your favorite outfits for baby. Any
favorite blankets, quilts, toys, stuffed animals, etc from home make the pictures look
extra special.
Portrait Ideas
I am open to any ideas you have for your
pictures. These are your pictures of a very special time in your life so I want them
to be just what you want. Feel free to discuss what types of pictures you are looking
for. I try to take a variety of looks for each portrait creation. These
include sweet poses with you in a white gown, looking down at your baby. As well as
the "open belly" poses that show that you are pregnant and proud of it!
Sessions with your husband are very special, and if you have another child, include them
too.
